  • Folk artistic and literary works
  • Computer programs and compilations of data

Related Rights

Related rights subject matters include:

  • Performances
  • Phonograms
  • Broadcasting programs
  • Satellite signals carrying encrypted programs

Unprotected Works

  • Information merely for news reporting purposes such as daily short pieces of news
  • Legal normative documents, administrative documents, and other documents in the judicial sector
  • Processes, systems, methods of operation, definitions, principles, and statistics

Terms of Protection

  • Moral rights are protected indefinitely.
  • For economic rights and the right to publication, the copyright lasts for the life of the author plus 50 years after the author's death.
  • For works of joint-authorship, the copyright subsists for 50 years after the last of the joint authors dies.
