Vu Thi Kim Dung (Dung Vu) is a qualified lawyer, qualified IP agent, and qualified plant variety agent. Her practice areas are broad, but her focus is patent and industrial design matters, with over 23 years of experience.

Dung's background is in chemical engineering; however, she has experience prosecuting patents in many areas, including chemical, pharmaceutical, mechanical, computer, and electronic patents. She also handles infringement matters, providing freedom-to-operate opinions, patent landscape studies, drafting oppositions, invalidation actions, carrying out prior art searches, and providing opinions on patentability for patents and designs. She has successfully handled patent infringement cases both under administrative measures and court proceedings for multinational companies. Dung has handled patent infringement cases related to complex SEP matters for global companies in the telecoms industry.

Dung has assisted clients in negotiating and drafting license agreements, drafting and recording assignments. She also advises and prosecutes plant variety protection and technology transfer dossiers.

Prior to joining Duong & Tran Intellectual Property Law Firm, Dung spent more than seven years as a Senior Patent Attorney at Rouse Legal Vietnam Ltd., and previously more than ten years as a Patent Executive at Tilleke & Gibbins (Vietnam) Ltd. and four years as Head of the Patent Division at Le & Le Intellectual Property Law Firm. Before that, she worked for Canon Vietnam Company Ltd. for one year as Head of the Quality Control Group in the Assembly Department.
