Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (NOIP) has announced that, from January 1, 2022, the classification of goods, services and industrial designs will be applied according to the Vietnamese version of the Nice Classification of Goods/Services, version 11-2022 and the International Classification of Industrial Designs Locarno version 13, translated by the NOIP from the English version published by WIPO.

If the applicant fails to correctly classify according to the Vietnamese version of the Nice Classification of Goods/Services version 11-2022 and the International Classification of Industrial Designs Locarno version 13, the NOIP will perform the reclassification during the processing of the application and the applicant must supplement the classification fee as prescribed.

The Vietnamese versions of these classifications have been published by the NOIP on the Industrial Property Official Gazette No. 405, on the web portal of the NOIP (www.ipvietnam.gov.vn) and Website of the Ministry of Science and Technology (www.most.gov.vn).
